The '70s, '80s, '90s and early '00s had Latin boy groups like Magneto, Menudo and UFF who ruled the music industry and satisfied boy-band fever in Latin America and the U.S. with classics like 'Vuela vuela' and 'Súbete a mi moto.'
After a long dry spell and no Latin boy band in sight, the millennial generation now has a boy band of their own. CNCO, hand-picked by Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz and Laura Pausini during the first season of Univision's La Banda, is taking the torch and leading a new boy band era.

Magneto: Mexican boy band from the '80s who, in their time, dropped hits like 'Vuela vuela,' 'Malherido' and 'Para siempre.'
Menudo: Ricky Martin started his career with Puerto Rican boy group Menudo in the '80s. The band, which recently reunited some of the original band members to go on tour, had singles including 'Súbete a mi moto,' 'Claridad,' 'Sabes a chocolate' and 'Mi banda toca rock.'
UFF: Venezuelan boy band UFF became popular in the late '90s, early '00s. Some of their most well-known songs include 'Canción de amor,' 'Tal vez' and 'Twist.'
Salserín: The salsa group formed in Venezuela in 1993. Now in it's seventh generation, some of the most popular Salserín former band members include Servando y Florentino, who later became a popular pop duo. The boy band's hit singles include 'Niña amada,' 'De sol a sol' and 'Te voy a robar el corazón.'

CNCO: The newest Latin boy band emerged from Univision's competition show La Banda, with Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin as producers. Earlier this year, they went on tour with Martin in Latin America and were the big winners of Premios Juventud 2016. Under the Sony label, CNCO will drop their new album in September. The boy band made their debut on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs in February entering the chart at No. 23 with their first single 'Tan fácil.'
