Street Guardian Firmware

Purchased to replace a Hewlett Packard F800x, which lasted until the guarantee expired. Although this has the same resolution as the F800x the picture quality is noticeably better, especially at night. I initially had problems with the GPS receiver operating intermittently, until, having mounted it in the top nearside corner of the windscreen, I noticed that the windscreen heating elements passed over the top of the GPS receiver. Relocating the receiver six inches further down, clear of the heating elements, seems to have cured the problem, although it can still take several minutes before the GPS locks on to a satellite; something the F800x never had any problem with. The kit contains everything you would need to install the camera, including spare adhesive pads for the camera and GPS receiver mounting. I found it easy to route the cables around the headlining and behind the windscreen pillar trim. I connected mine directly into the fuse box, under the glove box (2011 Mondeo) by making up a cable with a cigar lighter socket and hiding it all behind the trim, next to the glove box. Instructions could be a bit more comprehensive but at least they appear to be written by someone with English as their first language.
