The FF Search Bar 'Icon' (drop down w/ engines) was in the list, I clicked and dragged it into my address bar. This did the trick - hope it works for you. Regardless of why the Google Search bar disappears from the Home screen, you can always get it back there in an instant.Here's what you need to do to get back Google search widget on the S5 Home screen:
1. Get your phone ready.
2. Go to the Home screen.
3. When you're already on the Home screen, tap and hold on an empty space.
4. Next, tap on Widgets from the quick panel menu.5. Scroll through your Widgets and touch to select Google Search.
6. Tap and hold Google Search to continue.
7. Drag and drop the widget onto the available space on the Home screen.
8. And you should now see Google Search

Google Search Bar Widget Missing S7
With the latest version of Google Chrome (Versión 41.0.2272.101 (64-bit)) running on MacOSX Yosemite, when I resize the address bar I loose the bar and I've to restart Google Chrome.
It's a really bad thing when you've to develop web applications for small devices. Any ideas? Has anyone found a posible workaround? London diamond way buddhist centre city.

Apparently, for some users the following solved the issue:
- Open Chrome Settings
- Select 'Show Advanced Settings'
- Scroll down to 'System'
- Un-check 'Use hardware acceleration when available'

at the beginning it was working for me. but not it seemed not working anymore.
btw i found a solution or at least the problem to this one:
In my case i had too many plugins installed, and when i resized the browser to a minimum the plugins took away all of the space from the addressbar. therefore it got sort of invisible and while resizing the window to a larger screen chrome sort of forgot that it had made the address bar invisible. so i removed some plugins from the toolbar and since then i haven't had a problem anymore!
